Throughout our time in the Marine Corps, and various points in our lives, there is a quiet desire to belong and a profound need to feel like we are part of something greater. We didn't realize this at the time, but now we know that it was community we were seeking. Along our journey, we met scout survivalists, overlanders, homesteaders, freedom loving patriots, homeschoolers, anti-vaxxers, doomsday preppers, and a host of other groups, but while everybody was intriguing and fascinating, none seemed to capture the essence of a resilient community. Our story starts with that journey of discovering a better way. We realized that we were not created just for survival, and even if we were thriving, we weren’t created to go it alone. And so, we sought community. In everything we did, we sought to bring others together, to develop a sense of belonging, and create an interdependence. We wanted more than just to encourage one another, but fully support each other. It was then that I realized I was trying to capture what my uncle had created.
My uncle dreamed of being a police officer since he was a child, and achieved this goal in 1999 with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD).
During his decorated 23 year career, Thai (who also went by Tye, just to mess with people) was a mentor and training officer to many. He not only policed with passion, empathy, courage, and integrity, he embodied it. His calling was always to help others. He spent his entire life being a role model, loving his family, protecting his community and living his dream. He not only served the public, he left an impression on all those he came across. Serving others was in his DNA.
I grew up with him, and he became a father figure to me, as he was for many others. He taught me how to be more gracious with myself, and as a result, able to accept love and kindness from others. He taught me about courage and sacrifice. What it meant to show up for your people and to be a pillar in your community. I learned these lessons while living with him. In a world of disorder and uncertainty, he gave me a firm foundation of hope and self-esteem.
A place that I could be myself, a house filled with joy, and a home filled with love.
He was tragically taken from us on October 13, 2022, when he was shot in the line of duty, and succumbed to his wounds. Because of what my uncle created, and to all those he helped, he has become the driving force for this organization.

Our journey brought us back to the beginning…in the garden. We learned that the design is simple, as it always has been…as God created it to be. Another realization dawned on us. If we struggled to find our way back to the garden, others may also struggle to find their way as well. This is why we have made it our mission to continue this journey, and bring others alongside us.
It is the community that strengthens us, and what we seek to continue to grow.

Tye’s House fosters an environment that is safe, stable and supportive.
We believe in a wholesome, holistic home life. Just as we learned as children, we are able to put our best foot forward and step into the world with confidence, when we know our basic needs are met. And even if those needs were never provided, we believe that every individual has a God-given right to them. Knowing that you have a house in a secure neighborhood, safe from danger and uncertainty, allows one to blossom in a stable environment. A place where you are firmly fixed and able to receive love in abundance. It creates an environment of support, providing encouragement and emotional help. Tye not only opened his house, he made it a home. And we heartily feel that everyone deserve a safe, stable and supportive home.

Community means trust, alliance and fellowship. Together we show the world the simple, consistent and reliable gifts from God regardless of the chaos in the world.”

“. . . make it your ambition to live quietly, to mind your own business and to earn your living by your own efforts — just as we told you. Then your daily life will gain the respect of outsiders, and you will not be dependent on anyone.”
