Don't put off the dream of homesteading until you can afford acres of land!!

Most of us in the United States receive our daily necessities from the “grid”, a complex system of production and distribution. However, the grid also creates a society of consumers who don’t need many practical skills or relationships with local people. Many of us would likely die if the fragility of the grid resulted in total or partial collapse. It would be safe to say that there are innumerable benefits to decreasing our dependence on that grid, specifically helping us to create communities that experience greater freedom and health. One solution is homesteading. Homesteading is defined as a lifestyle of self-sufficiency. It is characterized by subsistence agriculture, home preservation of food, renewable energy sources when possible, zero-waste living, and depending on your skills. Come join our family’s journey into micro-steading, homesteading on .10 acres in suburban North Jersey.

Come join us in stewarding the land that you have, homesteading right where you are, and redeeming the dirt. Feel free to pack a brown bag lunch or a dish for brunch to share. We welcome little ones to start the homestead journey together as a family.

We encourage you to sign up for email updates pertaining to opportunities and articles about faith, family, and farming.

“You've opened our eyes on how simple it is to make a huge difference right where we are, right here in
our hyper local community. Thank you for all you do!

“. . . make it your ambition to live quietly, to mind your own business and to earn your living by your own efforts — just as we told you. Then your daily life will gain the respect of outsiders, and you will not be dependent on anyone.”
